my life

Constant change and new surroundings have been a normal part of my life as a consequence of moving across 12 schools and 9 houses in my childhood. Change is difficult for anyone but I choose to focus on the positives. I learned from an early age how to make friends easily and to navigate and adapt in new environments.

One of the many lessons my mother instilled in me as a child was the notion that making mistakes is a normal and essential component of learning and developing. This way of thinking has made it easier for me to take risks and approach problems with optimism; accepting failure as a teaching opportunity has made me more determined and tenacious in pursuing my objectives.

Because I didn't have access to the Internet when I was growing up, I had to make the effort to find information when I needed it. I learned patience, resourcefulness, and not to give up easily when looking for an answer. Because of this patience, I am now more able to deal with delays and setbacks in other areas of my life. Additionally, I had to use more of my imagination and creativity to create my own games, activities, and entertainment, which improved my capacity for original thought and problem-solving.

I became a trailblazer after high school as the first person in my family to pursue higher education. Without others to help me along the way or give me career advice, I forged my own path and made my own mistakes. I now feel a sense of accountability and have the chance to open doors for others as a result of this experience.

Despite all the changes and soul searching, my passion to help others is the one constant in my life, guiding me from a medical education to an engineering one. Another lesson from my mother was to always leave a space cleaner than when you found it. While I'm still not sure what kind of legacy I want to leave behind, I feel it is my duty to contribute to making the world a better place for everyone. As such, I am committed to using my creativity and problem-solving skills to make a positive contribution to the world.
